Up the west end, then down via the east ridge past Goat Bed Peak until a suitable spot to descend was found. That east ridge is really unpleasant, everything from the rock to the vegetation is very spiky.

Interesting route up the west end drainage. Dropped off the backside and walked around the east end of the ridge.
A really fun "Choose your own adventure" scramble up the south side. Lots of class-4 to make life interesting and you can keep it easier without much difficulty.

Most recently from Kraft Mtn parking lot, up and over into a wash, then a new route through the sandstone. Down the ridge and left into Brownstone Basin, and back around.

Birthday hike
Hiked this in scattered showers from Calico Basin - had to take shelter in a cave at one point as the rain was coming down so hard the was a significant volume of water flowing down the gully I was hiking up.

Rewarding
A great route up to this peak is via Brownstone Canyon, from Calico Basin, taking in a couple of big tinajas en route. I saw a large golden eagle on the ridge, as well as several bighorn sheep and a lone bobcat.

Scrambling via Sandstone Quarry
Started via Sandstone Quarry lot. The three pour overs along the route were fun to negotiate, but the scrambling on the descent was not kind to my knees. Awesome slot canyon along the way.
Again on 11/15/14 as part of a loop of Red Cap, Grey Cap, and Turtlehead. The descent from Grey Cap down into Brownstone Basin was super fun.
Again on 2/25/17, via the South face, after going up and over Kraft. Descended into Brownstone, went back through to Gateway and down Hell Hill. GPS tracks
