Re: Remember its a desert summit...Thank you Igor. It was a gorgeous day and it wasn't even officially winter yet. It is a rare photo. Very unlikely to have such low clouds and rime ice in the same day up there. I'm glad I went snowshoeing then!

Next time in Las Vegas, I would like to try Mount Charlestone...possible next December...whit some good rime ice conditions '-))!

Re: Remember its a desert summit...I have always wanted to do a winter ascent of Charleston and back in 2004 I finally found a friend that was up for it. We had fun, but it took two days (via Echo Canyon and south ridge). Other option to do it just as a day hike/climb would be to go via Big Falls. I have done Big Falls in deep snow, but it was already the first day of spring, so it doesn't count :(
