Long but fun. Started at 6 am from Prielschutzhaus, summited at 11 am.
Well being with friends, their girlfriends and wives
With Iva,from Hinterstodernormal route descent to Welser Hut .Second day back to hinterstoder over Brotfallcharte.Nice two days.
We did the Bert-Rinesch klettersteig after first snowfall almost melted down, bu there still were some snow remaining at the north side to cover part of fixed ropes.
you cen see it here:
We made it to the summit and back to Hinterstoder in one day... and was it a long one. We went via the Prielschtuzhaus and then took the Bert-Rinesch Klettersteig; descent via the normal route. The whole round trip took over 12 hours including stops and we were pretty beaten :) It was crazy hot, too.
The klettersteig is considered difficult. Well, it surely is rather long :)
Funny, long and awsome Bert-Rinesch Klettersteig in sunny day, quite lot of snow in the mountain ridges. Perfect weekend in Totes Gebirge!
nice route, a long time ago
Tiring but rewarding climb in splendid weather. Being comfortable with steel cables and exposition is required for the ferrata (something like A/B) below Brotfallscharte, and the ridge between the foresummit and the main summit. The view from the peak is really broad!
Nice day, summited in early afternoon, descend to Prielshutzhaus in storm..
It was nice autumn day, clear sky. We went from chalet Puhringerhutte on Grosser Priel and then we descented to chalet Welserhutte. Nice route!
Previous day I saw a lot of snow up there from the neighbouring mountain. As I was alone, I planned to leave others who would start from the hut to go ahead. So, I started from the valley, from Hinterstoder early, came to the hut when the majority already departed, but soon my plan was spoiled. After another hour or two I took over almost all of them, only a young pair was still climbing on Brotfallscharte ahead of me. On the fore-summit we were together and on the summit we were the first ones by the normal route. Yet, a few fast guys came up by ferrata before us. Because of snow and of course no winter equipment the ascent was not easy. The same day I did the same 2000 meters of the descent too.
