Completed the Venediger Krone runde: Hoher Zaun 3.457m, Schwarze Wand 3.511m, Rainerhorn 3.560m, Großvenediger 3.666m and Hohes Aderl 3.504m. From Defreggerhaus.
We made it in one day from the parking
Solo tour ski trip via Defregger Haus.
Climbed it 2 times before: on 19 July 1993 from the Neue Prager hut with a Belgian couple, and 15 July 1984 also from Defregger haus, but with a guided group as I was only 12 years old then.
Normal Route from Defreggerhaus. Guiding a NKBV Group.
Sunny morning, rainy afternoon.
After a night in Defreggerhaus we ascended the summit the next day - pretty cloudy, but overall superb. Tons of fresh snow, nobody else up the mountain.
Me and 2 friends, no other climbers up in the mountains. Very windy day (50km/h +), easy walk, summit in clouds (10:25).
Sunny day, deep snow (no crevasses)... Quite crowded, but we managed to be first (and alone) on the summit.
Don't remember the exact date, but it was in March 2005.
A small window of good relative good weather let us to reach the summit, with deep snow and whiteout at the summit.
We had planned a three day trip with stays at Neue Prager and Badener Huts. Weather forecast however was bad for day 2, so we decided to do a "one shot ascent". Left Matreier Tauernhaus at 04:00, passed Neue Prager around 09:30 and reached the peak at 13:10. Back at Neue Prager 15:40. Loooong but great day :)
Took part in a guided tour, this being my first time on a glacier. Started early in the morning, climbed and enjoyed the peak in excellent weather, then descended to Johannishütte afterwards.
Defreggenhaus -Gr.Venediger-Hohes Aderl-Rainerhorn-Schwarze Wand-Hohe Zaun. Nice tour, very good conditions
Nice and easy route over the long Inneres Mullmitzkees glacier. We needed 3 hrs from the hut. Weather was perfect and the views from the summit fantastic!
My first big mountain. Nice climb and fabulous views, from what I remember :)
2 day trip from Venedigerhaus via Neue Prager hut
A simple, quick and short walkup, no technical difficulties. The route done in poor visibility (clouds and fog), so probably it influenced my impressions, but in general, for me it doesn't present nothing more interesting, but (I suppose) nice views from the top.
Climbed with Igi.
Nice easy glacier trip but without summit view due to the clouds. Ufortunately we went back in melting snow reaching to our knees or higher. Nevertheless it was my first unfogetable time in alpine peak. Like a first love...
I've climed it from Defreggerhaus; nice and easy tour together with David and the kids (see below).
Nice weather, many people.
