Camped in the buttermilks, we decided to check out Grouse Pk. Lovely views over a stormy Sierra.
Climbed up the loose dirt on the north slope to west of the saddle. Very cool terrain from the saddle to the summit.
Due to the amount of snow, I had to start lower down the road and made a nice trek over the peaklet north of Grouse. Straight up north slope, post-hole shin deep. Really dug the Class 3 in snow and boots. That's why I wear LaSportiva! Beautiful huge plumes coming off the Sierra. Love my backyard ~

Worried about my rental car, I parked off Buttermilk Road after just four miles, and took a more or less direct path across the desert from there. This route had a lot of ups and downs in soft sand and wore me out! Anyway, I climbed it, and just because I liked the name!
Fun little hill for the kids
Parked out by Starlight and hiked in with the dog. 2x
about this little peak for years camping in the Buttermilks and decided to scramble it in July '05, again in April '07
