High Point #21  Sucess!

Awesome hard hike through the snow! Met a bunch of cool people on the way up and down and made some new friends! The sun even came out for 15 mins right when I made it to the summit!! Awesome hike and I was dead afterwards but still pushed myself and did the Devils Hall hike too.

With El Capitan  Sucess!

Lovely hike on easy switchbacks to the top. Great views along the way. Did El Capitan as well which was a wild hike/bushwhack.

A great hike any time of year!  Sucess!

This was really a great hike. The back side of the mountain was snow and ice covered, the front side was clear. By the time I was coming down enough of the backside was in the sun so that the ice was pretty much gone. I wasn't the only one here for a December hike, met a few people on the summit, shared some great stories.

rewarding hike  Sucess!

Started before sunrise and enjoyed the sun rising over the desert as I hiked. The summit was quite cloudy on arrival but quickly cleared to reveal great views of the desert. Out of this world feel with endless dunes. Quick snack and then headed south to El Capitan.

Drove up from EP and was cold in the shade the whole way down, but it was well worth it!

HP #39!  Sucess!

Even though the trail was packed, my girlfriend and I reached the top with no problem. We had a clear day, and the views from the top were incredible! Very windy at the top, almost lost my hat a few times. So happy to get a new high point this year!

1 of 2 state highpoints today  Sucess!

Started in the dark with mild temps and a slight breeze. Only issue was summitting too fast in darkness- needed to wait almost 1/2 an hour for sunrise for my photos! Headed north for Black Mesa (OK's highpoint) afterwards.

Tougher than I thought  Sucess!

Who knew that the highpoint of Texas was just a bunch of switchbacks to the top of the mountain? Lol. Much tougher that I had anticipated. All in all, a great climb.
