Guano Rim

Guano Rim

Just as ugly as the name implies. Highway 140 can be seen cutting up the side of this rim, which at the top of you will find one of Oregon's highest mountain passes at over 6000 feet.

Hang glider launch

Isn't this near the hang glider launch site that sits near the top of the pass? I think the name Guano Lake is one of those names where you would think twice about camping near. Guano Rim isn't real attractive either.

Re: Hang glider launch

This picture was taken from the launch pad. I pulled over here to take some pictures looking west, you could see Crane and Drake Mountains covered in snow. Ugh, I really need to get back down to the desert, I miss this drive.

I understand your feeling about that country. I kinda miss Badger mountain every day as hard as that is to believe.
