Guardian of the trail

This interesting formation looks like a gargoyle as it watches over the trail entering Slide Canyon. I took this shot a couple days prior to my hike of Y Mountain.

Hey ... Dean !

I think you've been watching too many reruns of the Twilight Zone. Did the gargoyle WINK at you as you went by??? It gets a "10." | : )

Re: Hey ... Dean !

Thank you Larry for the ten and yes, I love the "Twilight Zone" shows. I do believe that gargoyle winked as I went by, in fact, I'm positive it did.

Question ... Dean?

Have you been to the "Great Stone Face" yet???
Its a unique rock formation, located southwest of Delta, in the middle of the Sevier Desert. You can't miss it! Actually, it's right outside of Delta, so they might have the road
plowed and free of snow going out to it. Its right off of Hwy 257, on the way to Clear Lake.

Re: Question ... Dean?

I hadn't heard of the Great Stone face. I most likely will get to see it this spring when I go after Swasey and Notch peaks and when I do see it, I'll get some pics for ya.

Awesome ...

I'm betting that almost everybody living in the fine town of Delta knows where the Great Stone Face is ... just southwest of town.
Please include the photos of Notch Peak.
