Quick out and back ascent on a beautiful day.
Great day to climb the cables!!!
Went back for second annual trip. Same as last time - perfect conditions. Only difference was I woke up a little late and then had to come down that last mile or so in the dark (had a headlamp w/me of course).
This was my first "adventurous" hike and I loved it! We had amazing weather, not a thunder bumper on the horizon.
Pretty uneventful. Camped in little Yosemite Valley so approach wasn't bad, first pitch was crux, the rest a cruise and 4th class marathon on top. While descending the cables we learned of the events of 9/11 and were in utter disbelief. We hoofed it to camp and got to Yosemite Valley proper, 6 miles, full packs and racks, in 45 minutes!
Classic route. Unfortunately the Valley was smoky, so the views weren't as stellar as they could be. That was one loooong day.
i want to do it again!
16 hours round trip from the car. Passed two groups on the rock. Route was BEAUTIFUL!! Cables down was scariest part!! Fat tourists peeling of f and stumbling.
Will remain on my list of favorites. Just don't look down and hang on to the cable.
Waited in line 45 minutes at the cables. Worth the wait.
Beautiful day and a great hike. Tremendous views of Yosemite from the top.
Nice day, good weather
5th annual climb. This time as a one day trip. Left the car at 5am, base of climb at 10am, summit at 4pm, headed down at 5pm, and reached the car at 8pm. Long 15 hour day. Started and ended in the dark. Unfortunately the summit wasn't as fun since it was windy and overcast, but the route was still very enjoyable. 5 teams on the route that day.
My favorite hike so far. I have done it 3 other times since. Could not summit once due to the cables being down.
Nice dayhike. Left early to beat the crowds.
Nice hike with my wife on our first time in Yosemite.
6 am start on the trail and made it to see sunrise through Nevada Falls. It is quite a sight to see. We hit the cables at about 9 am then spent about an hour on the summit. We got back down the cables prior to a horde of people arrived at bottom. All in all it was a fairly easy hike that we fininshed in about 7 hours.
Wanted to camp at Little Yosemite but couldn't get a permit. So we decided to do it as a day hike. We started from Happy Isles at 5:30am the next morning, and reached the summit by 11am. It was a beautiful clear day, no clouds and very little wind. The crowds starting coming up around noon. We took our time on the summit and made it back to the parking lot by 4:30pm.
Started the trail Sunday at 3:30 pm, reached Little Yosemite at 7:00 pm (via Mist Trail) and camped there. Woke up at 7:00 am and stayed at camp until 10:00 am due to the closure, got to the closed part of the trail at 1:00 pm and waited until 3:45 pm for the workers to finish and open the trail. Made the summit 4:23 pm, we decided to camp another night so we wouldnt have to walk out in the dark. Got back to camp at 6:30 pm. Left camp the next day at 7:15 am and took the John Muir trail back down, back to the car by 10:00 am.
All in all a great hike
