Hall Peak climbing route

Hall Peak climbing route

The red line shows what I personally consider the ideal climbing route for Hall Peak. With adequate snow cover, the yellow line would also be a good alternative. This photo was taken on 4-23-13. May and June are probably the best months for this route. Early season can present avalanche hazards, while late season can be very brushy.

Last pitch of the peak

What is the last part like on Hall? Scramble? Looks like a 2-3. Did you use rope? It's on my list this summer.

Re: Last pitch of the peak

We actually ascended via the Big Four/Hall Peak saddle (won't ever do that again), and came down via the recommended route. The upper part of the mountain is very straightforward - just some steep snow in places. It looks like it would be miserably brushy in late season. The hardest part of Hall Peak is at the start of the climb. We used a 100' 8mm rope as a handline on the descent on a few parts of this section. As you start the climb, you should see survey tape and a couple of cheap ropes if you are on route.
