"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Someone Turned The Water OnVery nice hike. Very wet, too (we had a surprise shower descending the JMT).
I think the NPS needs to replace the trail map at Clark Point as it showed the JMT as distinct trail beginning at Happy Isles).

Half DomeBeautiful hike. We started around 8 a.m. Very few crowds as we went up the John Muir Trail. Relatively few crowds later when we descended via the Mist Trail. The scenery was nothing short of remarkable.

Perfect time of yearThe crowds weren't too bad at all and the snow run off was in full force so the falls were ripping. Nice hike.

Nevada FallsThroughout my life. Despite the increasing size of the wandering herd, I still love this road and the feeling of taking in that magical place at the top of the falls. And don't forget 'ol Liberty Cap, her presence adds to the magic as you listen to the rush of water tumbling down and over the edge.

Mist Trail and beyondGreat hike when the weather isn't too hot. Hardest part is past Vernal Fall and up to Nevada Fall on the Grand Staircase.

Nice views and very accessibleGreat hike that pretty much anyone can do. I've been there many times with friends/family and on my way to Half-Dome. The Mist Trail is much better than the John Muir Trail as you get to see Vernal fall from up close.

Via Mist TrailA beautiful and refreshing hike. The route via John Muir trail is also very nice. We hikes this fall in every season and always enjoyed it very much.

Beautiful!!Hiked it with my dad!! Took a little trip up to Yosemite after coming from Kansas to CA for a cousin's wedding. The parking lot in the valley wasn't exactly a prime sleeping spot, I got zero sleep, but the hike was awesome. Lots of water and great memories!! Thanks dad!!

Dozens of TimesI do this trail several times each year. When the water is high it is one of the most senic & beautiful hikes in the park. In fact I am going there tomorrow (4-28). Will take John Muir to Clark's Point, down to Mist Trail then up to Nevada Falls.

A very popular hike in Yosemite ValleyDid that hike with my family in the summer of 2002. There was not much water in the Merced River, so the water falls were pretty unspectacular. However, the hike itself and the landscape are simply beautiful.
