Re: And To You Too!he looked like he had enough indeed;))..but he was only captured in this position by a young man who took this photo for us.
We were surprised by quantity of people on the top. There were 3 persons;)Me,my friend and some young man who reached the summit ealier. The night was clear and without clouds...there was only -5-8C upstairs... and -14C in Zakopane;))the wind was very strong and we were hitting by pieces of ice from the cross;))so we stayed only 25-30min till the midnight and descended immediatelly

Re: And To You Too!Not a huge party then but – given the quality of the people present – surely a great one, probably the best in Zakopiec, no wonder it was so hot:)) Well done!!!

Re: And To You Too!Wow!!! I guess that last bit would've beaten me in the end, so if I ever climbed Giewont at that time of the year I'd remember your report and would take the right turn into the valley of Mała Łąka:) Well, if you survived the vodka, I bet you can manage to climb the boldest and highest summits on this planet! Good luck!!!
BTW This picture here is really a very good one, especially in the eyes of those who know what the area and the climb can be like in winter, I think; not to mention the fact that you - I hope you don't mind - BOTH look fantastic!

Re: And to You too!!yes,it was really nice feeling!I thought about midnight climbing 1 year ealier but after perfect days at the end of December 2007 suddenly the weather changed and it wasn't possible to climb anywhere..(I thought then about Zawrat)

GiewontOh, this is what I should have done!! I was there a few hours before you on that day and then descended back to Zakopane. Well, yes, you probably had amazing views!!!! It was a perfect day to climb Giewont and Tatry, minus an avalanche that occurred in the next valley with 3 people getting injured.

Re: Giewontreally??!! what a pity!.It would be funny to meet up there before midnight;))I didn't manage to contact you before your trip, sorry. But I thought that you wanted to climb s.th more challenging,so I didn't thought about Giewont;)
Since that time some of people have died in avalanches in Tatra. There are no good conditions during this winter, still much fresh snow, little frost which doesn't connect it.What mountains or area did you visit?
