Having slept at Lake Blanche,...

Having slept at Lake Blanche, we awoke at 6am with distant thunder rippling through the Salt Lake Valley below. Within 15 minutes, the storm engulfed the mountains. Notwithstanding the good shelter we found the storm was quite violent and got our hearts beating. We waited the storm out for nearly 2 hours, then continued up Sundial Peak. Aug 27, 2005.

It must have been quite the thrill for sure ya? A thunderstorm makes for one hell of an almarm clock.
