Heidelsburg Relief

Heidelsburg Relief

This is the replica of a Roman tomb slab relief (the original is in a museum in Speyer), which was found in Heidelsburg Castle in the early 1900s. It shows husband and wife, the former most likely being a forestry official. The relief dates back to the time between 150 AD and 350 AD, when Heidelsburg was a Roman fortification against German attackers. May 4th 2009.
