I decided in late October 2020 that I just had to squeeze in one more backpacking trip this year, so over Halloween and my B-day I ended up going to Pittsburg Landing for a very unique hike along the Snake. I had already checked out Seven Devils before and I spend so much time up in the mountains in Montana that I was very excited to do something different. And its also on the way between Missoula and Sandpoint, right?... Well, for me at least, this was one of those hikes where you don't do that much walking because you don't want to trip over your own jaw that is dragging around on the ground. Actually only went as far as Sheep Creek and back in 3 nites. Hells Canyon is so beautiful and different and it was kind of like a safari with all the big ungulates around. Now that I've had a taste, I can't wait to come back and do some more ambitious backpacking! What an amazing place! (No poison ivy or rattlers if you go at the right time of year. Also, the presence of jet boats surprisingly did not bother me- its just too gorgeous to care about that)
Spent some time with a neighbor walking around in the tall grass. I was only 7 but I remember seeing the vast distance, the Snake river below and terraces above.

Great Motorcycle Ride
Berney, Nick and I rode through and spent one night in the canyon. It was part of a four day ride through Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. Hell's canyon was the most lovely part of the trip. Some of those turns are hairy at high speeds. It started snowing on us when we stopped at the overlook.
Back in 2005 rafted for 2 days and then drove along etc. Beautiful place!

Beautiful Scenery!!!
I have been to Hells Canyon with family and friends, multiple times, first with my dad in 1998. From riding in jet boats to hiking on the canyon slopes, visiting Hells Canyon has always been an awe inspiring experience.
