Backpacked into south of Dollar Lake. Found a great spot. Beautiful few days.
Climbed with Mark as a quick backpacking trip.
Great day hike with my buddy Matt. Took the cutoff trail between the passes. Didn't see anyone for the first 3 hours, then eventually encountered what seemed like every Boy Scout in Utah along the trail. The scenery outweighed any negatives with the crowds. Definitely a classic American day hike.
Fabulous, well-graded trail all the way to Anderson Pass. Avoided the "contour" and just followed the trail. Reached the top at about 2:00 in the afternoon with Justin and Megan.
This was my 3rd mountain I've ever climbed...I want to go back this winter and do it on skis. Thanks kings!
Did the 27.5 miles in 13 hours with my Uncle and neighbor. Great time, but we were all very tired upon completion.
Splattski and I did a one day round trip from the Henry's Fork campground starting with a 3:45 AM headlamp departure. JP added the summit of South Kings to his list while I napped on Kings and waited a little over an hour for him to make the round trip. We made it back to the car at 6:00 PM.
My first mountain ski right up and down the east face in teles and leather boots. A fabulous beginning to a long and lustrous career!
Camped at Dollar. Not many people up here :)
3 days, camped at Henry's, beautiful weather (not even the usual little T-storm), my second ascent, saw huge moose.
Only bit of advice is to take note of where you come out of the steep chutes on the traverse south of the pass on way up, so you can hit it right if you elect to come down this way. We did just fine, but it is easy to see how someone could miss the easier chutes through the cliff band.
Went up Henrys and camped at henrys lake and went up the steep chute to saddle. Quick approach-second summit.
using this route. Aug 2000 and 2007.
I don't know anybody who has did the entire route to
Kings summit & back in a day. Best to camp just northwest
of Dollar Lake, but watch out for the moose.
Camped @ Dollar
Well this was one long day hike! Amazing area.
