Here is a good view of Hager Mountain from The Citadel on 7-17-2003. Notice the interesting connecting ridge! Gore Range in the distance.

Umm it looks like an interesting tour...

Kane,

This photo of the connecting ridge from the Citadel to Hagar Mountain is putting ideas in my head. Did it look viable? (it looks fun in the photo). I may have to try these mountains out come july.

Jon-I've heard it's a fun ridge walk. I hope to do it some day myself. Supposedly Class 2, loose closer to the Citadel.

Jon,

When in July were you thinking? Aaron put the thought of this area in my head a while back and I am going to be in Colorado the weekend of July 4 giving this same area a go solo as it looks like Aaron will not be around then. If you are interested, shoot me an email.

Hey Jon,

This ridge IS fun! I did it Sept, 2001 and the ridge is actually quite easy. Take care on the descent from the Citadel because the rock is a bit loose. From the saddle, to just below the summit blcok the ridge is actually surprisingly easy. The summit block itself is easy Class 3 by its easiest route, but tons of fun scrambling/climbing exists. Our descent was down a big alluvial/debris fan running east off the south shoulder.
