Here is the corner in Downtown Crestone (I use the word "downtown" loosely) where you turn to go uphill to the trailhead. You're on the correct road if you are going UP and past the Crestone Mart Lumberyard. Alder Accommodations is a one place to stay. Check with CAVA, the Crestone Area Visitor's Association, for more lodging info / options (CAVA, the Crestone Area Visitor's Association) While you are not driving, there is a liquor store across from Alder Accommodations, the 21st Amendment. Max's Mexican is now across the street, but this photo still works.
