Hermit Peak
Despite being only 10,273 feet (3131 meters) this is quite a spectacular mountain with great views. It was a really nice hike with perfect weather.

Hermit ‘s Peak
Beautiful spring day. Breezy but the trees blocked most of it. Very windy at the top. Virgas in the distance. We took the standard trail. Rocky but doable. Worth the hike. There’s a trail down to the cave. Not much to look at but also worth the steep but short hike down.(and then back up)

Standard gorgeous route
Incredibly, I had this ascent all to myself on a Saturday and didn't see another soul until the decent! About a foot of snow on the summit plateau. The views from the overlook just on the other side of the highpoint are breathtaking! Just me and Logan.

Trail
You can see Jicarita, Chimayosos, and North Truchas from the cliffs at the top. Nice views! Heard some rockfall in the canyon.

Sweet views
The trail is mostly a pile of loose rocks, and therefore completely un-runnable, but the view is well worth the drive and hike. Lots of big, several-hundred-foot cliffs, too, though I can't find much info about route development. Some of the south-facing rock, especially near the top of the switchbacks, looks pretty decent.

Hermit Peak Trail
Great views from the summit plateau. Great scenery on the way up with big walls surrounding the trail. Could not locate the Hermit's Cave.

Picture Perfect Day
Drove up from ABQ with my hungover friend, Ryan. We picked up Nizhoni on the way and had a splendid day. The autumn leaves were in full color, the sky was clear, and not a lick of wind hit our faces. The best part was the napping at the summit.

Great Climb
Great climb with beautiful views. I highly recommend it.
I climbed the Peak a few times while living in Vegas. It's less than two hours up. The view is stunning. We could see one of the houses we lived in from the summit.
There is plenty of space for camping at the summit if you don't mind lightening.
Red Dawn was filmed in Vegas, and you can see the Peak several times during the movie. Patrick Swayze has a place on the way up to the mountain.
