Climbed chute SW of summit
Beautiful climb. I can see Hesperus from my house and have finally climbed it. The weather was great until I regained West Mancos Trail. It hailed from there back. Total time 5.5 hours. Mosquitos were thick in timber around trail.

climbed Hesperus along with Lavender via the traverse, not recommended unless you have a high tolerance for loose talus! I left the West Mancos trail a little too early in the dark and had to traverse across a rock glacier to the proper gully. Steep climb. Now somebody needs to figure out which is higher: Hesperus or Lavender?

Cloudy day
It was a cloudy day and spent most of the climb in the clouds. To cut a couple of hours off the approach... go right over the talis and make your way up the back slope. Great view at the top though, as always.

Hesperus Mountain
Jathan Cantu and buddy, Dan Spare, reached the summit in about 4 hours. Started out at Sharkstooth trailhead, but soon broke trail and headed up the grassy north side of the west ridge. We hiked down the scree/talus slope to make better time on the return. Great 13er! Columbines everywhere!
