The highest of the shelters on the trail Slaná voda – Babia Hora (yellow marks) sits at 1643m, ten minutes' walk to the summit, between the trail and the nearby Slovakia-Poland border (! to the right of the trail if you face upslope). It is rather small but cosy and has a bench outside that gives a stunning vista of the Tatras. There is also an interpretive panel which claims that Babia Mountain was quite heavily glaciated in the Ice Age (although this view is not often shared by Polish geographers).
