This is about where the trail peters out while hiking Elk Mountain Trail in Charon's Garden Wilderness, OK. Actually, Texas longhorns wander up on top of this mountain, sometimes, and the jumbled nature of the trails is evidence of their passage (as are the ever-present droppings--watch your step!). From here you'll have to bushwhack across the granite and through crevices filled with greenbriar, poison ivy and scrub brush. The summit block is the prominent rock right of center on the horizon. Imaged in April 2008.
