Holy Cross Ridge

Holy Cross Ridge

Once you pop up on the saddle, you suddenly greeting by this amazing view of the Holy Cross Ridge (as well as the whole Sawatch Range to the south). At 7:00 a.m., the lighting wasn't perfect, but you get the idea!

Excellent!

This collection of photographs is superb and really captures the Holy Cross Wilderness very well. This view of the Mount of the Holy Cross is rare in any public media. It's great too because the endless, non-descript west slopes seen in this picture is where people are usually found and rescued from when then get lost, usually dodging severe weather. Finding folks on this slope can be a challenge, and even moreso getting them out of there. People need to stay on the North Ridge Route when descending Holy Cross! Thanks for posting this shot, Larry!
