A nice hike on a warm day
Luckily, we found a parking spot at the trailhead. We hiked up the Horsetooth Rock Trail and down Audra Culver and South Ridge Trails. Hiked with the wife and daughter.

February ascent via South Ridge
Took ~ 1.5 hours to ascend on a beautiful clear morning. Brutal wind on top, though.

Bike Ride to Horsetooth
Fun little mountain bike ride up and around Horsetooth Mountain. Ditched the bike for the last .25 miles to the summit, and then bombed down the rest of the trail. Beautiful summit with a fun scramble to the top.
Started from the Horsetooth Trailhead at about 9:15 am. Lot was full so we parked off the road about a 1/4 mile away. Went to Horsetooth Falls first and then up to Horsetooth. Decided to forgo Horsetooth Rock and chose the true summit on the south tooth. We had it all to ourselves. Sunny, perfect low temp day in the Front Range.

April 25 2018
After work, I climbed Horsetooth Mountain, my favorite hike in this area. The weather was nice and so were the views. After climbing Horsetooth Mountain, I headed for Aggie Peak near Horsetooth reservoir and climbed that too. It was after dark, but the climb was not long.
January 4 2018
Today I climbed Horsetooth Mountain between shifts, making a loop hike. Conditions were icy in places, but not too bad. It was a beautiful sunny winter day.

In the afternoon, I climbed Horsetooth Rock/Mountain. To date it was my favorite hike in the Loveland area.
I did a loop hike of the Horsetooth Mountain and South Ridge Trails and did the scramble to the summit. The views were great, but it was very windy on top.
On the way down I had a nice sunset that included some lenticular clouds.

Fun sidetrip
My friend and I drove from Salt Lake to Denver for the USMNT world cup qualifier vs Trinidad & Tobago at Dick's. We met a good friend from Fort Collins there, and wanted to do a little hiking with him before we drove back. I was wanting to do the approach to The Spearhead. I've longed to see that mountain again, as it was one of my favorites from my time living in CO. But we decided on seeing some of the local gems, instead of making the big side jump, as we needed to get home that night. So we did Horsetooth Mountain. It's a fun little 4 mile walk to the top with about 1,500' elevation from the trailhead, if you take in the falls, and Soderberg trails to the top. There is a network of fun little trails, and great views of Masonville from the Horsetooth. Great little place to trail run and explore.

Pretty sunset
I climbed this in the later afternoon/early evening and stayed at the top to watch a really pretty sunset. There were about 20 other people spread out across the summit watching the same thing.

Beautiful March day..
These hikes with bad weather in high country are perfect. Spring is very unpredictable, but there is Front Range with gems like this. I took kids to this hike, nice little mountain.
