Part of a Lindsey Huerfano Iron Nipple trifecta. In fact, I dated a girl named Lindsey Huerfano in high school but her nipples softened whenever I was around, if you can believe that,
Slept in the car after finishing California group late the night before. Started around 8:30 AM, walked up the Lindsey trail, onto Huerfano, back over Iron Nipple and then added Huerfanito. Another great day out!

Tagging centennials on a partly-cloudy day. This was a pretty quick boulder-hop from Iron Nipple, so I ran up Lindsey on the way back for a bit more fun. Trip report.

North side from Pt 13,555
Climbed Pt 13,555 then traversed the ridge to Huerfano Pk. A 6-week layoff (with 2 at sea-level) hurt me. My head was pounding, and I felt a bit wobbly on the ridge. I also couldn't make the right calls up there. Stay on the ridge? Nope, forced off. Contour around? Nasty scree. With an added 4 miles of road walking that I wasn't planning on, it was a long day. Oh, well, still a good day!

South Slopes/Ridge
Climbed from the Lindsey/Iron Nipple saddle. The hardest part is getting past or around Iron Nipple. The summit is actually very interesting. A nice, rarely visited centennial.
Climbed from Iron Nipple. Returned for this one since I climbed Lindsey a few years ago. I'm glad I came back. Nice hike.

after the exciting scramble on Lindsey, this was a little bit underwhelming but it was nice to have the peak to myself (the rest of the people on Lindsey had no idea that Huerfano was even a peak). Barely beat a thunderstorm

winter's wrath
slogged through a marathon day with steve, dan and greg to snag huerfano on a nasty day. 10+ miles trenching through the sierra blancas was tiring enough, but the wind wall above treeline was what almost broke us. eventually we prevailed and are extremely pleased with our success over the trials we encountered.

Long day in the snow
Hiked up while my dad and his friend were resting after a Humboldt attempt. Got off route when I climbed to the east tpo early after crossing the creek. All the snow around Iron Nipple made for a more difficult day. Also lots of snow in the basin below.

After Lindsey we climbed Iron Nipple and then Huerfano. The Iron Nipple has an interseting scramble near the top. We skirted the Nipple on the return. Nice side trip!

Finished the ridge up by traversing northward to Point 13,555.
