Hunter
Climbed via Becker Hollow Trail from Route 214. A short but steep ascent. There was a fresh coating of snow on the ground over 3500' all the way to the summit. Climbed the fire tower in 40 mile-an-hour winds and in a complete whiteout. No views today.

Tree Blowdown War
I took the Becker Hollow trail. There was a sign at the trailhead saying the trail was closed due to heavy blowdowns. I drove all the way from NJ, so I was going no matter what. Well the top of the mountain is just devastated by tree blowdowns. All right in the middle of the trail! You have to take the yellow trail to the fire tower, and then the blue trail to get to the summit. No way you can get to the summit if you go left at the trail junction and take the blue trail. No way! It's going to take an army to clear the trail. I fought my way through. Ripped my shirt all up. You got to be hardcore and determined if you want the summit.

Becker hollow
Nice fall hike, we were the only people on the trail and the summit views were great sight to see. Trail was a lot of fun.
good hike, saw a cool ass porcupine at the top! he was moving around in slow motion and seemed like a puppet character.

Fun first day of summer
Trial was little muddy and medw the upper part of the Becker Hollow Trail a bit tricky. Clear day with great vews. Temps in the mid 70's on top and slight wind from the north.

Hiked with my husband EastKing and my father! It was a great bonding experience.
Route Climbed: Devil's Path (west to east, from Spruceton Road) Date Climbed: August 1984
Fairly straightforward hike along an old roadbed. Views to the north were good, but the fire tower on the summit was closed off. The trail down into Stony Clove and the Devils' Tombstone area was delightful.
Route Climbed: Devils Path from Spruceton Rd. Date Climbed: 8/19/95 and 12/21/96
Summer hike was hot and humid and I had a cold. I walked down the ski runs on the north flank of the mountain and enjoyed a beer in the town of Hunter as it was Octoberfest.
Route Climbed: Chair lift route :) Date Climbed: October 18, 2003
We were a week too late to catch the best fall leaves. The chair life combination hike is a great way to introduce new people to hiking... especially when they're from NJ and never climbed anything in their lives. The fire tower is an added bonus.

Route Climbed: Rusk Mtn bushwhack and then Spruceton Trail Date Climbed: Sept 20, 2002The bushwhack to Rusk was awful. I never want to go there again. I was so exhausted I barely made it up the easy road to Hunter's summit.
