I-75 a Typical Mtn Road

U.C. mountaineering club climber is southbound in the Tyrolean between the fins. The cars beyond are also southbound but to Knoxville via I-75 Thanksgiving 1983.

Cool shot

It looks strange to see a guy climbing with a car / road in the background but it makes it a neat shot.

Re: Cool shot

An amusing way to pass Thanksgiving! My family thought I was a turkey.

The 80s.

If I could only go back. climbing seemed so unencumbered. (Ok, I'd still want all of our modern gear).

Re: The 80s.

Don't forget,, big hair cancelled out all mysterious powers of Spandex, although valley girls in spandex were always suckered in by my Rubik's Cube skills. today's woman is much smarter. Thats the unencumbered I'm talking about.

I think

Anyway I'm on the south fin looking north ( the northbound lane is closer to us) and the Tyrolean guy is southbound from the north fin and he is being belayed from the south fin.

Re: how?

My guess it is about 35 feet. We just climbed both fins and pulled the lines across!
