CANDY STORE ROCK

"Well... Oh baby, baby, oh you sting like a bee .. Oh baby, baby, I like your honey and it sure likes me. Oh baby, baby, I got my spoon inside your jar .. Oh baby, baby, don't give me too much; don't make me STARVE ..." Like a colorful candy store full of cinnamon sweets bound to knock you off your feet, Courthouse Butte captures the imagination AND the final rays of another Arizona evening .. "If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding... how can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat !" December 14, 2011

Re: Wheres the Candy?

I don't know ... a black 'n orange KITTY came
out of nowhere and heisted my Candy. :- )

Guess that's to be expected when you're
running with the big dogs ... and CATS!

Josh, I've been having trouble with the
focusing mechanism on my camera. Is there
a way to make an adjustment ???

Re: Wheres the Candy?

Now keep in mind this could be one of many things. Are you talking about all photographs including far away and up close? A setting you changed? Or perhaps it starts out unfocused and the lens goes in and out? My camera sometimes give me trouble with focusing, especially in the cold. I admit I'm probably due for a new camera which I hope to swap to an SLR camera. What kind do you use? These facts will help me diagnose your camera problem.

Far away ...

It happens when I use the zoom lens. Guess I
have to go though the settings and adjust
accordingly ..

I have the Canon PowerShot SX 110 IS ... it
seems to be entirely in focus when I refocus
in Picasa, but when I download to SP
the image is overly grainy and looks like I
gave it too much focus, when in reality I
was very conservative and just gave it a little. Do you get the picture ??

A new camera would be great. Thanks ..

Re: Far away ...

SummitPost sometimes processes modified images strange depending on what program you use. I admit I was a bit confused by your comment when you said you refocused it in picasa (I'm thinking of the computer program)... are you talking about noise? The focus is all done on the lens, is there something on the camera called picasa? Anyways, when it comes to the king of lens focus, go manual SLR camera.

Re: Far away ...

Excuse me, I seem to be getting a lot of NOISE. How do you REDUCE the amount of noise after downloading the image to SP ??

Is there a way you can "turn down" the noise
by adjusting the "sharpen" on the computer
program, or is it really the camera ??

There possibly could be a bug in the program.

Maybe I'll have my computer geek reinstall
the program the next time he stops by.

Re: Far away ...

Alright first off, are you using picasa 3? Are the photographs noisy on your computer itself? I've had a noise problem in the past with picasa 3, so I found out that I could reduce this by using things like photoshop that allows more accuracy if you know how to use it. Then there is a noise reduction feature in photoshop. Just for future reference your uploading the picture to SP, not downloading. Downloading is when your loading anything to your computer. ;-) Don't get me wrong, picasa is a great program, but you have to be careful with how you go about doing your fixing. Plus it's basic which is why in that sense I like it more than photoshop.

Re: Far away ...

Yes and no.

Yes, I'm using Picasa 3. No, the images are
NOT noisy until I upload them to SP.

I'll have my computer wizard friend check out
the program upon his next visit. Thanks for
lending your ear to this important matter, Josh !!
