Blooming Cactus

I just wanted to point out that a month makes a big difference. When we hiked up Lost Horse Peak a month before you did, the cacti hadn't started blooming yet.

Your pictures are great!

Re: Blooming Cactus

Thanks for your comment. Yes, it does make a big difference. There were many cacti with buds still, so I guess it will be good to see them bloom for the next few weeks. Cheers.

Wonderful!

I really enjoyed reading this and looking at the beautiful photos again. I've never been to Joshua Tree but you have made it look so inviting!

Re: The history is great!

Thanks. I am also always very interested in the local history of the area I am visiting. There usually is a great story behind the ruins or mines or whatever you are looking at. Cheers.

An escapade all can enjoy !

A thrilling adventure which can be enjoyed by the whole family ! Apart from the scenery, the really fun part is uncovering the artifacts of history !

The exerpts from the song brought to mind my mother's insanity (Muguette DeschĂȘnes Hodgson) which was institutionalised in 1976 at the Albert PrĂ©vost institute in Montreal for becoming dilusional over Elvis Presley...

Thanks Liba for your comment and vote. My daughter is 12 and my son 11. I don't usually post pictures of them. They can do that later if they wish so. Cheers.

Delicious Region

Those arid and wild open spaces - just the thing for a brain reboot and return to sanity. On my list for next trip.
