Ice Climbing, Alpamayo Col
Top roping the first pitch (of three) we climbed to reach an interesting small bump of the northeast ridge of Quitaraju, above Alpamayo col. Sorry I can't describe the difficulty accurately - it was significantly harder than any ice I've ever done - awkward, overhanging, and sometimes brittle. Photo by my friend Benjamin, July 18 2007.
