Important featureThanks for these shots, Paul! The red Ledge is an important waypoint. It's in the ridge that comes down from art's Knoll, isn't it? I've drawn a route map for Stage 2, and based on a jog in the 6400' countour line, I figured the Red Ledge is there. Can you confirm that or straighten me out?

Re: Important featureYes, Red Ledge is located on the escarpment that forms Arts Knoll's West Ridge. I can't remember the exact elevation of the ledge but it seemed to be fairly close or maybe slightly higher than the elevation of Kool Aid Lake, which is approx. 6,100 ft. Plus, the ledge ascends about 100 feet from the north to the south. So your 6,400 ft might be a good guess. Or possibly 6,300 ft. I wouldn't base your guess on that topo jog. The ledge isn't such (in size) that it would necessitate a jog in the map.

Re: Important featureGot it. I should add a disclaimer to the main page (or each map page) that the routes drawn in are educated guesses, etc. It may take me a week or two to finish the main page, Stage 1, and Mix-up. If nobody's stepped up to start on Stage 2, I'll dig in. But first I need to catch up on sleep!
We did major portions of the southern half in crappy weather -- rain blasting us from the side, eyes glued to the compass, litterally counting our steps -- it was an adventure, but didn't result in the kind of panoramic photos that help reconstruct the trip.
I saw in a trip report you mass-mailed, that John Scurlock was in your list of recipients. He was in our party on the PT, but I'd lost touch with him. I oughta contact him to fill in some details from the trip.

Re: Important featureEric, speaking of John Scurlock -- I trust you're familiar with his amazing photo website, right?

Re: Important featureYes, I've drooled over his photos, but it's been a year or so since I've checked it out. Thanks for the reminder. I should go through his stuff and add appropriate links to my pages.

Re: Important featureI met and chatted with John at the 100 Highest party at Don Beavon's home in Tulalip last November. I love what he's doing - a photo collection that's long been needed IMO.
