Beautiful!

One of your best picture in my opinion. I like those layers of colour: black, brown, white, blue.

Re: Beautiful!

Thanks Pijiu. Chalung Ri is for sure on my "wish list"...

BTW, you may have seen it from the other side during your own trip, it is located about 15km NW of Gang Benchen.

Re: Beautiful!

The Kyirong Valley is on my wishlist too. If I had Milarepa's flying power, I'd be there in the blink of an eye.

By the way it's probably wrong, but the russian 1:500'000 map gives Chalung Ri at 6'556m.

Re: Beautiful!

Indeed, Chalung Ri is the unnamed Peak 6556m on the old Russian Map from the 60ies.

But the most reliable source is the HighAsia6750m table published by www.viewfinderpanoramas.org and www.8000ers.com. Chalung Ri (28°39'30" 85°25'54", prominence 927m) is given with an altitude of 6767m.

BTW, Tsalung, the birthplace of Milarepa, is located just at the foot of the mountain. The book “Tibet / Le guide du pèlerin” by Victor Shan (page 1023) uses the name of Tsalung Ri for Chalung Ri.
