In 1996 one of the worst...

In 1996 one of the worst storms came thru... we were there for it. This is up from Elk Garden (the back western side) in the trees. We got dumped on.. We knew it was coming, but didnt know it wouldnt stop. It was an incredible challenge to get out, and we only had 2 miles to go. Needless to say, we got snowshoes after this trip. I had to get up 3 times this night to keep my tent from caving in. I had a Kelty ultralight (3 season). I faired well I will say and till today, remains to be my fav! ;) Of course, we did carry the sleds and I was sledding at 1am (when it was not snowing and peaceful)
