Achupallas to San Jose (2 days).  Sucess!

Hiked with Dimitri & Valentina from Russia. Very nice couple. We started from Achupallas. Tried to cross the fastest possible over Quilloloma in case of thunderstoms.

We camped at the bottom of Quilloloma at the northern side of laguna Culebrillas. I recommend our porter Francisco Masa who helped us a lot during the trekking.

Got to San Jose next day at 1:00 pm, and took a hired a truck to Ingapirca Ruins the to Cuenca where my two clients amd I took a flight back to Quito.

I recommend to make arrangements directly with the porters, who even though don't speak english, they do most part of the hard work, guiding, carrying, loading up the mules, setting up camps and cooking. Most of the companies do arrangements with land owners or "important" people from Achupallas which get's all of the money and paid to the porters only USD. 13,00 for the three days of trekking.

Porters:

Manuel Taipe: 81569919.
Francisco Masa: 91055614.

inca trail in two days

I love this hike and have done it before, only this time we had a limited amount of time since my friend from Germany was only gonna be in Ecuador for a couple of weeks, so we decided to get a porter, this not only was really helpful as far as the hiking but also to see some different parts off the trail which were amazing, contact Manuel Taipe the local guide and porter, he will be happy to help you and he is a great guy, his contact numbers are 081569919 or 088428529

Drove from Quito to Achupallas. Andreea (ROM) and I plus Heidi and Gerhard (GER) slept in Achupallas after our arrival.

Overnights in Muyuna and San Jose. Long days with fair weather. Andreea guided half of both last two days while I packed our camp with Luis, our hard worker mule driver. Got to Ingapirca on day three at 10 am.

Our second hike of Inca Trail in August.

Route Hiked: Achupallas to Ingapirca (3 days)  Sucess!

My friend Veronica (ECU) and I left from Achupallas at 3 pm. Overnight in Cuchicorral and Paredones. It rained every single day and it wasn't easy to hike on the mud, specially on the marshy areas.

Not even 4WD vehicules were able to drive up by the San Jose – Ingapirca road the last day. We had knee deep mud in areas. Got to Ingapirca by noon.
