From Mrs. dh3

Most definitely a Paintbrush (Castilleja), the date of the photo, April, indicates that it is probably Castilleja chromosa, aka early paintbrush. However, but without seeing the size or the whole plant and the foliage, it is not possible to positively identify further.

Mrs. dh3, thank you for the identification! Lisa, if your are satisfied with the information received, please detach your picture from the Unidentified flora and fauna album within the next week so that the album remain 'fresh'. Thanks.
