On the summit of Babia Mountain there are a couple of monuments (rather unsightly) and commemorative plaques. This inscription was carved in situ in 1924 to commemorate the Polish Legions
and Marshal Józef Piłsudski
, kind of Polish George Washington, who played a crucial role in Poland's rebirth in 1918, after 123 years of being wiped off the map of Europe. It is high time this 'plaque' were renovated.
