On the summit of Babia Mountain there are a couple of monuments (rather unsightly) and commemorative plaques. This inscription was carved in situ in 1924 to commemorate the
Polish Legions and
Marshal Józef Piłsudski, kind of Polish George Washington, who played a crucial role in Poland's rebirth in 1918, after 123 years of being wiped off the map of Europe. It is high time this 'plaque' were renovated.
