Inside the

Inside the "Ice Chapel" at the foot of the Watzmann

The Eiskapelle, or "Ice Chapel" is a field of eternal snow on the modest height of 900 meters above sea level, but right at the very foot of the largest rock wall in the Eastern Alps, the Watzmann east face, in a spot which gets almost no sun at all during the entire year. Water streams from above and passes underneath the snowfield, creating an impressive "mouth" the size of a cavern.

Wonderful!

Very well captured, Eric! I like that with that contract not everything is black - the outer slopes even have colours and the ice has a nice blue tone.

Cheers!

Re: Wonderful!

Yes, I do that as well. Because this is how our eyes see the scenery.
