Very Useful Photo

This is a really good photo, and I have put it on the top line on the web page - it is the only view where you can see the whole of the normal route. The route goes up the left of the glacier that hangs down in the centre, crosses the glacier and heads up to the steep ridge that is familiar from the other photos. It really is dwarved by the Lohtse face.

I would like to do the trek that you did - from where the picture is taken from it looks as if you were looking down on Imja Tse, but from the height you quoted it must just be a distorted perspective.

Cheers for the photo!

Re: Very Useful Photo

Thanks Peter. It was a fabulous view, not fully captured in this shot, The distorted perspective is interesting and appears to be looking nearly down on Imja Tse People had commented on it earlier - a different and inferior scan that I deleted.

I have crossed this past twice, eight years apart, and each day was pure pleasure. Here is the ascent from the South.
