Ew. Ticks.
There's nothing particularly _hard_ about this hike, just a steady strenuous slog to the summit, but the trail is open to dirtbikes and quite eroded in sections, which makes for uncomfortable walking. Worse, this trail obviously doesn't see much maintenance so it's impossible to walk through the brushy sections without rubbing against the overgrown plants...which are infested with ticks. We must have killed / picked off 50-100 of them and found one latched to my friend's scalp later. Nice summit views, but if you're going to do this one, don't do it in late spring / early summer unless you feel like facing off a tick army!
Beautiful morning hike, started at 9, it warmed up to the 80s, and breezes near the top were amazing. Took the standard hiking trail; 3 hours to the top with my 2 companions. Great trail, lush ferns near the bottom. Views of the Sawtooths and Wolf Mountain around the top were awesome.

Jackson Peak summit
A deceptively steep hike! I did this with my friend Jon Oh and never saw so many ticks.....we had to start burning them off our clothes! I didn't bring enough water and got dehydrated by the hike. The summit had a outpost, and there was a great view of the Boise mountains.....including Wolf Peak. The Sawtooths were visible near by as well.

Have tagged this peak several times in the winter (full snow) and this was my first Spring... messsy! lots of snow remenants and wet ground this time.

Great Views
Did this in October, not too much snow. Fire damage is evident in the area, but the views of surrounding mountian ranges along the way are quite spectacular.

Snowshoe
Fairly long day of snowshoeing. Huge cornices near the top.

Occupied
Mountain Biked up and much to my surprise there were two people living in the Fire Lookout. I helped them move some wood and went on my way.
