I think that the page is good but could definitely use more photos of/from the peak. Also, any reference books (ex. Bruce Grubbs Hiking The Great Basin NP.......doesn't talke about this climb in particular but might offer approach or other info??).
Thanks very much for your suggestions. I agree with you. Now that you mention it, I remember running across a hiking book awhile back that made mention of some routes on the mountain. I'll hafta track it down. I'm trying to score some more pics too. Thanks.
I have some pics. Will add later.
I did the traverse from Wheeler and descended JD's north slope to the bristlecone forest. It makes for a nice loop trip.
are there any peaks west of the Mississippi that you have NOT climbed??
Man, I'm jealous!
I haven't climbed Monkey Face. :)
The page needs more photos. I assume the hike is self explanatory, and easy to find? Some links would be nice as well. Take a look at the info on the Wheeler Peak page, and that should give you some more info to work with.
Very nice page! Some more photos would be a good addition but you've done a great job! have a good one!
I would not have thought of climbing this peak without seeing your page. Thanks!
Hey, like, thanks for the vote!
Great page- nice photos. I contemplated traversing over from Wheeler onto Jeff Davis, but I was with a less adventurous person at the time. Sounds like a cool gig surveying the Lehman Caves area- I'm a geographer by degree and always interested in surveying extremes in terrain. BTW where is Simpleton City?
Thanks for the vote, Sean. Great Basin NP is a special place. Simpleton City, by the way, is one of the monikers I've assigned to the trashiest city I've ever been to - Las Vegas.
and cool peak - I'd seen this one but didn't know squat about it.
As of june-23-2007, there was just one (loose) page left. New notebook needed.
Admins, this peak named reverted to the Shoshone name Doso Doyabi (White Mountain) last year. Time to update the webpage.
