Joesnow sent me this photo to add to the Whorl page. He made the same mistake as many do in crossing over into the chockstone chute too early and being faced with a scary traverse via a hand crack. He sent me this to more clearly illustrate where the route goes to the "sandy traverse" to the chockstone. The "X" leads to the scary hand crack.

traverse into chockstone gully

The best picture to get into the chockstone gully. Easy class 3 following this recommendation. We weren't sure what's after this picture, so I ended up going up straight from the middle chute, an awkward move that I'm worried about how to reverse on the way down. Then my partners followed this and it was very nice.
