Blood, sweat and no tears!

This photo leaves me speechless! This is what I call a close call.
Thanks for the quick summary of what happened.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.

But, but ...

it looks like you are standing. I would have thought you'd be on the ground after something like that. Get better soon.

Best Wishes!

It doesn't seem that long ago to me that you were discussing some annoying people underestimating you in some mountaineering group or class back when you were closer to starting out. Since then, you've certainly silenced any doubters by packing a ton of great climbing, and some helpful mountain related web development, into just a handful of years. We all experience setbacks. I like to think of them as opportunities and actually am physically and mentally improved in the mountains and elsewhere a year removed from my only injury related surgery (also involving a huge falling rock, but very minor compared to what you are dealing with). You seem to be taking this in stride. Hang in there through the long winter you are facing! By the way, great picture!

OUCH!!!!

Good story, glad you made it out to live another day outdoors in the mountains. Life gets richer from near death experience especially when you rely on yourself to haul yourself out without calling for help. Myself, over 40 yrs. Mt. climbing with a couple close calls. Never give up if its what you enjoy doing. Live life on YOUR terms.
