A beatiful day just against the face of Mount Everest.
Reached top in light snow. Heard two distant avalanches on Nuptse or Everest.
A steady stream of people up. Cold and windy but a beautiful day. Easy walk
Perfect day, perfect views, well acllimatised. What more can you expect ?
We sat here by ourselves for hours gaping at Everest, Goddess Mother of Earth.
Killer views of Sagarmatha. The Himalayas are like nothing else on earth. Spent an hour at the top taking photos of the surrounding area. A must do.
Summitted on my mother's birthday. She wonders if I was switched at birth, but I was concieved on the day Hillary summitted Everest.. My personal highest elevation, fortunate to have a beautiful day.
Great 360 degree view of the Everest region.
I went in the morning and whiteout conditions didn't allow for much a view, but Kala Pataar is an almost "manditory" waypoint for anyone doing the Everest Base Camp trek.
Fun, and what a view. I'll reiterate, like everyone else, it's not really much of a 'peak,' per say, but that isn't any reason not to do it. It's more than worthwhile as a diversion if you're up that way anyway.
Beautiful views all around, perfect day for photos and climbing/hiking. The trek through the Kumbu was also a highlight, as were the many Monasteries and wonderful people along the trail from the Lukla Airport to base camp of Everest. I bought a bottle of coca-cola for $1 near Gorak Shep at a Lodge(??), wonder how much it is now?
Wind at the summit was something else, but the view of Everest is the most spectacular you will ever see. An amazing experience.
Very leisurely climb. Summited at the break of dawn
not exactly a summit but more an extension of pumori's west ridge. mandatory terminus of the khumbu trek.
I do not consider this a peak - it is a hill which you walk up! Nevertheless it is useful for acclimatisation before trying a trekking peak in the region and this is what I did. I really enjoyed walking up this hill - I got a great picture of everest as well.
Click on the link for a picture of Pumori taken from the summit.
Magda Soler and Lluis Canals summited in a very clear day. The West Face of Nuptse is as impressive as Sagarmatha itself. Very interesting to see the Lho La, a high pass to Tibet.
9 of us from Malaysia trek to Solukhumbu Region to climb Mt Kallapatar height 5545M .Only 6 of us reach the top and we manage to view sunset of Mount Everest glowing (golden colour). The view is beutiful and superb!!!!! We missed the trip to the Everest basecamp because of the heavy snow ,Planning to come again but this time intention to trek to Gokyo Ri to view MT. Everest at Gokyo .
A spur of Pumori... with lots of false summits. Breathtaking views of Everest across the valley. I was there early (summited about 10AM) to see Everest before the afternoon clouds covered the summit- then back to Lobuje that night.
