Anyway, since you know as much about Kanch as anyone on the planet (!), I should be careful with my reply, but I'll stick with south face. If memory serves me well the area in the photo is off to the left of this one:
The photo was taken looking northeast from where the red line on the glacier, beyond Ramze. Kabru is to the right (south) of us:
But I could be wrong...

...I was confused, but...Hi Nelson,
...as I told you before, I was too excited to enter your beautiful site!...but it is definitive NOT Kanchenjunga South(or South Western) Face, but...Yalung Shoulder upto Kangbachen ! I´ll try to add a picture, taken in 2004, as seen as from Yalung Glacier(with my 160grams simple camera, because of weight) to show you in details the "complete" range.
Take care in down under and make some beautiful pictures !
