Round-trip from Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih  Sucess!

Kanjavec was the turning point of my dayhike from the Triglav Lakes' Hut (going up via M. Tičarica and V. Zelnarica, down via Hribarice and the Seven-Lakes-Valley). I knew what to expect and wasn't turned down: grand views open up all around from the summit, which is definitely well worth visiting! After descending to Hribarice, a sudden summer storm developed out of virtually nothing from the West (Trenta), but it also passed by as fast as it came and the sunny weather returned for the rest of the day.

NE Slopes Route  Sucess!

Climbed this route and its surprisingly vertical secured section on a traverse of the mountain while going from Triglav to Seven Lakes. There are great views, and even better ones from the slightly lower SW summit.

Glory of Kanjavec  Sucess!

Much is made of Triglav, and its southern neighbor is very understated. It shouldn't be! It's a wonderful peak, with great views of the Julian Alps, Austrian Alps and Triglav itself. Also, solitude is so wonderful. We approached from the south and summited the south slope (still a lot of snow in ththe basin in June).

From Dolic  Sucess!

We climbed from Dolic. We walked easier route across col of Hribarice because the fog covered the mountain. We had a few of views in the summit and the descent.

from Prehodavci

It was July 2003, I came at the hut from Lepo Špi?je, with intention of climbing the ledges of Kanjavec, but there was too much snow, the former caretaker,s son warned me it is dangerous, so I went to Kanjavec directly from the hut. 200hundred meters from the hut the fog "attacked".I met a Czech climber and we tried to summit, looking for the easiest passages,/ my favourite expression from mountain guides/ following the rule no.1 - if there is something above you, you are not at the top.Somehow we found it, and finally found some tour-skiing poles, so we found our way back.
In september, i tried again ,this time was really wonderful - it is my favourite path in julian Alps, the ledges are awesome, the views fantastic, the Vršac wall really impressive. The snow still stayed under Trzaska Hut.
Next time, we climbed the Kanjavec ledges once again, coming from Zadnjiški Ozebnik, and going down newly equipped Komar route.Again, it is not for the faint-hearted, beeing very, very steep.

Route Climbed: Traverse from 7 Triglav Lakes Hut to Dolic Hut Date Climbed: august 2007  Sucess!

During our 3 day crossing of the Triglav National Park we brought a visit to Kanjavec. Very nice views from the summit. Funny to see the contrast between the crowds on the other side of the valley on Triglav and these few individuals who come to the summit of Kanjavec. Must be an amazing trip in winter!
