Hard on the feet  Sucess!

Climbed the mountain from the north-east ridge and descended on the central-eastern one. A very long climb across sharp edged limestone rock. Lost our way near the summit, then again on the final part of the descent. Ended up downclimbing rocky chimneys and were very happy to reach the base of the climb again.

Inside the fog

I tried to climb kastro in early November,in a cloudy but still warm day.Let me tell first, that i had neither a good map of the area nor a compass.I started my route from Niatos plain, and i crossed it directly without using the gravel road.
After a while a started entering the central valley between Kastro and Skoutsiou korifi. At the beggining the valley had some trees but the vegetation vanished as i ascented.I reached the first step, ascented it and i continued at the dry bed of the valley, for more than half an hour. The fog started to fall reducing visibility.Instead of going right,i ascented straight and little left from the dry bed at steep(up to 35 degrees)scree slopes until i reached inside the fog a peak.I couldn't see more than 100m,nothing taller seemed around but surely this wasn't kastro.I decided to return and after a few days after asking other mountaineers and looking carefully the map,i realized that i had ascented Skoutsiou korifi(1893m) not Kastro.
