Path off PCT  Sucess!

On and off views from the fog. Still good to bag this peak! Roughly 3.5 hours roundtrip not including 1 hour on the summit to wait to see if the fog cleared.

Evening climb  Sucess!

Went up with the TNAB group for an evening summit hike. Was fun, chilly and scenic. Another quick I-90 corridor hike/scramble. Easy off-trail route at the top.

NW Ridge  Sucess!

Horrible weather made this all the more enjoyable for me. Snow on the ground, limited visibility due to the fog that was rolling in and rolling out, and rain at times all made for a trek that was slick at times. Ascended the NW Ridge, descended one of the gullies back to the PCT. Good times!

Northwest Ridge route  Sucess!

It was a crisp clear day with a little bit of snow. We followed the old crest trail and cut a couple of miles off the round trip. The old trail crosses Commonwealth Cr, and the low flow made it very simple. With high water, there's a log with some metal grating for traction.

PCT side trip  Sucess!

Having failed in June to negotiate the Red Mountain-to-PCT traverse, I came back in the fall to catch Kendall in the more conventional manner. Memorable on this trip: I took my ice axe. Some jerk on the PCT made a derogatory comment about not needing an ax on any climb along there at this time of year, but I actually used it in the turf when I decided to descend from the summit straight toward the trail rather than back along the ridge. (I don't do crazy stuff like that any more!)

Route Climbed: Southwest Notch 12/12/04  Sucess!

A low snow year so the approach wasn't hinderd. Although the wind was howling once we broke out in the open. Gust around 50mph. Needless to say we didn't stay on top very long. Great views though.

Route Climbed: Straight up from PCT Date Climbed: 11/7/04  Sucess!

A nice early winter day. Just enough snow to make it slippery and not enough for the ax to bite made it interesting.

A great climb, really enjoyed the alpine lakes and streams on a blue bird day.

Route Climbed: Northwest Ridge Date Climbed: September 17, 2002  Sucess!

Left the trailhead at 10am and passed about 5 different parties until the climbers trail north of the summit on the PCT. A .5 mile or so traverse back along the west side of the ridgeline brings you to the summit register (needs replacing). 4.5 hours round-trip.
