Keyhole Ridge Route

Keyhole Ridge Route

Keyhole Ridge as seen on the approach from Boulder Field with Keyhole Ridge Route shown with dashed green line. The Keyhole is the deep notch in the ridge (right, note lots of climbers standing inside it). The Keyhole ridge starts from below the Keyhole and ascends the Class 2+ ramp and climbs up some Class 4 ledges to the False Keyhole (a broad notch seen left-center). The technical climbing starts from the ledges left of the False Keyhole and ascends the east side of the Second Tower (left)(2 pitches, Class 5.5-5.7 depending on the line chosen). After climbing to the top of the Second Tower, the route drops down its west side (low Class 5) and follows the ramp to the base of the Third Tower (extreme left). The last technical pitch ascends the east face/corner of the Third Tower (Class 5.5) and follows Class 4 ledges to its top. The Dove snowfield is seen at the base of the ridge. 07-30-2011
