And I love the proposal too! Like Sarah I would have imagined that ring dropping into a crevice or being swept away.
I did live your worst fear in a way Sarah! Forgive the long story coming next. About 10 years after I got married I was out in the driveway washing my car, hit the wipers to clean them when I looked down at my engagement ring. Shock! No diamond!!! It had fallen out of the setting. Never found even after I paid every neighbor kid $10 to look outside with me :((
Luckily it wasn't a big stone but very sentimental of course. In a way though it all worked out because my wonderful husband had his mother and grandmother's beautiful, old European-style mine cut stones made into a gorgeous ring that I think symbolizes our lives even more.
Can't wait to see more pics of you and Kiefer together!

Congrats too.My wife and I met through a mutual climbing buddy and had many great adventures together before getting hitched. I proposed to her on a climbing trip to Moab with a turquoise ring bought from a Indian local selling jewelry by the roadside. Of course, then we had kids and now hardly ever get out, but that's another story.

Kiefer proposed to me in Iceland's Blue Lagoon. He's the romantic and I'm Ms. Practical. After getting over the initial shock/excitement, all I could think was: ACK! He's standing there in swim trunks in 4 feet of blue opaque water holding a friggin' diamond in his hand! What if it gets lost? GRAB THAT RING! =)
