Up Grindsbrook Clough and down Jacob's Ladder  Sucess!

With Nathan and Parvez.

Started from Edale and it was a nice casual hike. Really easy scrambling up grindsbrook clough. Chilled out in the hills and got back to Edale for some Fish and Chips in the Rambler's Inn.

Once again, rubbish visibility and rain. But none the less, a nice stretch of the legs!

31 times and counting...

My local 2000ft'er, have visited the true summit 31 times. First did it as a young teenager on a roasting hot day via Jacobs Ladder and Noe Stool. Despite knowing the fell intimately, it's magic still hasn't worn off.

Cold  Sucess!

February half term the climbing club from college spent a week in the area. I remember Kinder being very cold and having lunch huddled in a GISU (Group Instructor Survival Unit - have not seen these for sale since) before heading home.

Several visits  Sucess!

I vaguely remember climbing Kinder Scout as a scout to learn the dark arts of navigation. The memory includes: snow, rain, wind, sun, mud, peat, water, more mud, some more snow... All on a summers day!!!
Been back since in all weathers. Specatular place, incredible rock formations, don't forget the map and compass.

Rushup edge - Kinder Scout - Edale  Sucess!

Walked as part of a long circuit around Edale. Not great weather, but with mist on Kinder Scout it made for a surreal atmosphere. Hardly any water in Kinder Downfall at all.

Greg Garrard  Sucess!

I hiked up Kinder Scout in the summer of 1998. Mainly in preparation for a British Army expedition through the Alps, but it was a very enjoyable hike. Interesting to find out how many American, British and German aircraft crashed in the Peak District during World War II. Hiked it again with my father in 1999, an experience we both thoroughly enjoyed.

Edale  Sucess!

Nice place to take the dog for a walk. A trip around the entire edge 18 miles or so is a great day out.

Route Climbed: Grindsbrook. Date Climbed: Feb 1996  Sucess!

This day would just about be the coldest day I could remember on the hills. Not only was the summit covered in a great blanket of thick snow, but there was ice everywhere. It was treacherous, but a real adventure
